"Patron," "shield" and "father figure"

No one else shaped the company longer than he did: Karl Eychmüller joined Wieland in 1919, four years later he became a member of the board of directors, later he was chairman of the board for 37 years, then chairman of the supervisory board for many years. During this long period he became the "father figure" of the company.
